As a reminder, there is no school for students on Fri., Sept. 4, 2026 and Mon., Sept. 7, 2026 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Sept. 4, 2026, is a normal workday for all 12-month staff. All ACPS offices and schools are closed on Mon., Sept. 7, 2026. Students are back to school and learning on Tue., Sept. 8, 2026.

Yesterday, we officially welcomed Douglas MacArthur’s newest teachers and staff, and we are thrilled to have them join our incredible team. We’re also especially excited to welcome back several educators who previously worked at MacArthur, continued their journeys elsewhere, and have now come back to us!

Whether you are joining us for the very first time or returning, we are so happy you’re here!

Our final “Pass The Heart” ❤️💙 recipient for this 2025–2026 school year is Ms. Etchberger, our wonderful first-grade teacher!

Her students thrive because of her calm and patient demeanor, which helps them feel safe, valued, and confident as learners. Her positive impact on our school community and commitment to helping every child succeed make her truly deserving of this recognition.

Today, we had the honor of welcoming back the Class of 2026 seniors—former MacArthur Stars—for the traditional March of the Titans!❤️💙

What a special and heartwarming moment as these graduating seniors returned to the place where their educational journey began. From sitting once again on the kindergarten carpet for a story, to reconnecting with their former PE teacher, Mr. Harris, and enjoying some nostalgic parachute fun in the gym, it was a day filled with memories, smiles, and reflection.

Watching these former MacArthur Stars walk our halls as graduating seniors was a powerful reminder of how far they have come and the bright futures that await them.

☀️ THREE amazing Field Days + the most beautiful weather = unforgettable memories for our MacArthur Stars! ⭐

A HUGE thank you to our incredible Field Day Committee, PTA, administration, teachers, and staff for making these days such a success. Most importantly, thank you to our amazing parent volunteers who came out to support and assist throughout all three days. We could not do this without you! Your time and energy helped create lasting memories for our students.
