It's time for some nutrition tips! Here are five tips that will help you accomplish your health and fitness goals.

1. Don't drink your calories - excess sugar and calories are hiding out in many drinks we consume, including coffee, tea, and energy drinks.

2. Avoid overly processed foods - processed foods are often packed with artificial flavors, preservatives, and sugar. Instead, focus on eating whole foods instead!

3. Get enough sleep - getting enough sleep is linked to better moods, more energy, and even weight loss!

4. Drink enough water - staying hydrated is so essential, especially during the summer months. Drinking plenty of water has lots of benefits, including increased metabolism and reducing constipation.

5. Finally, eat plenty of protein - eating lots of protein will help you build muscles and stay full between meals.

Check out our webinar on SDOH Screening Tools for Public Housing Residents !
We discuss the practical aspects of screening for SDOH, the best options for reimbursement of SDOH-related activities and referrals, and how to engage in thoughtful evaluations of quality measures that are impacted by screening practices. Dr. Zara Marsellian from La Maestra Community Health Centers joined us to discuss the important question: “How are we going to pay for that?”. She also discussed how her screening practices have improved the quality of care provided to her most vulnerable patients and other impacts they have made to patient outcomes.

Our Story

National Center of Health in Public Housing (NCHPH) provides training and technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of federally-funded health centers to increase access to health care, eliminate health disparities, and enhance health care delivery for the millions of residents of public and assisted housing.

The goal is to increase the capacity and improve the performance of HRSA supported health center programs and other safety net providers in meeting the specialized health care needs of the public housing residents. The National Center for Health in Public Housing has developed materials for training and education, disseminated best practices and mentored new grantees.

NCHPH professional divisions – – Training and Technical Assistance, Clinical and Quality Assurance and Research, Policy and Health Promotion- – consist of professionals with a common area of interest within the field of public health and that enrich our ability to conduct training and technical assistance activities for Health Center Programs serving public housing residents
