The Douglas County Sheriff's Office Dive Search and Rescue Team along with several other agencies from MN conducted a 3-day Dive Rescue 1 training in Alexandria provided by Dive Rescue International. This 3-day training include classroom lecture where students learn the techniques and technical approaches for rescues and recoveries. They also practiced skills training in a pool environment located at the YMCA. Finally, the students were presented with different dive rescue and evidence recovery situations in a real-world lake environment in Lake Ida at Pilgrim Point Park. We would like to thank the Dive Rescue International Instructors, attending agencies, and the YMCA for their assistance in allowing this training to happen. Because of your support, the Douglas County Dive Search and Rescue Team is prepared and ready to serve the community of Douglas County.
