We will begin Phase 1 of the reopening plan on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. Important things to know-you will need to make an appointment with our office due to social distancing and space limitations. Please call 318-473-8153 to see if your matter can be handled over the phone or to schedule an appointment. All services will be performed in our 1st floor office. ONLY the individual(s) needing services will be allowed in our facility. Individuals not needed for the transaction will be asked to remain outside. Do not bring children or others not needed to obtain the documents you are seeking. Only the front doors of the courthouse (Murray Street) will be used for entering and exiting the building. You will be screened by the Sheriff’s Department prior to going through security. Your temperature will be taken, a short form will have to be filled out and you will be required to wear a mask the entire time you are in the courthouse. If you are scheduling an appointment for a marriage license, birth or death certificate please visit our website to complete forms prior to your arrival. Notice Regarding COVID-19
The Rapides Parish Clerk of Court's office is open, however all business will be conducted at the door and the public will not be allowed to enter the office. As announced previously, we have suspended issuing birth and death certificates. We are taking these steps in order to comply with Federal and State guidance to protect the health and safety of the public and our staff. We suggest you call to see if we can handle the matter over the phone or electronically. Many answers to questions can be found on our website www.rapidesclerk.org You can also utilize our online service (details on our website). We are sorry for any inconvenience and we thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.

Important Update: The April 4th Election has been postponed until June 20th. The May 9 Election has been postponed until July 25th, both by Proclamation of the Governor.
