On behalf of the fireman, I would like to thank the community and Tinkertown Hardware for their support and donations to our boot drive on May 2nd. It was very successful and thank you for that. During our boot drive, we got a father's sentimental piece of ceramic made by their child. So, hopefully, we can share the picture and find the owner. Thanks again!

The Allegany County sheriff has issued a travel advisory for the county. Travel is strongly discouraged.

01/24/2026

As we head into the weekend, the National Weather Service is forecasting bitterly cold temperatures and a major winter storm that could bring 10-15 inches of snow accumulation and reduced visibility across our region. Travel may become hazardous, especially during periods of heavier snow and blowing/drifting conditions.

If you must travel:
- Check the latest weather and road conditions before heading out.
- Allow extra time and keep plenty of distance between vehicles.
- Pack an emergency kit with blankets, water, and a charged phone.
- Keep your gas tank at least half full.

At Home
- Make sure your heating equipment is working properly.
- Never use ovens or grills for heat.
- Keep space heaters at least 3 feet from anything that can burn.
- Clear snow from vents to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.

Help Us Help You
- Please keep hydrants near your home clear of snow - a 3‑foot radius on all sides makes a big difference in an emergency.
- Check on neighbors, especially older adults or anyone who may need assistance.

Please be careful this weekend.

Please drive slowly and safely if you must go out. All surfaces have a coating of ice and conditions are extremely slippery.
