Today we will begin our hydrant flushing season starting with Jordan Springs Road, Layman Way, Riverside Drive, and Sanford Road. Your water may become temporarily discolored. If this happens and last longer then a day, call Kerry at 207-432-3212.

🚨ATTENTION DRIVEWAY snow plowers

It is against Maine state law to push, shovel, plow snow against any hydrant. We have had issues this winter with some snow plow operators pushing snow against hydrants, and we ask that you be careful around the fire hydrants.

Maine Statute Title 29-A, Section 2396 forbids plowing, pushing, or shoveling snow onto public roads, which includes the area around hydrants.

The service minimum charge for the current bill should read
JAN - MAR 2026 NOT JAN - DEC 2026.
This service minimum is always for the current quarter of 3 months.

Starting this week throughout the month, we will be doing our fall hydrant flushing. You may experience discolored water due to iron in the water main and should clear up within the day. If you have any problems, contact Kerry at 207-432-3212.

The Alfred Water District is getting anonymous calls regarding the water at Keywood manor, and we would like to put out there that we have no affiliation or control of the water in Keywood manor. If you call from Keywood manor and leave a number, we would gladly lead you in the right direction on who to contact in Augusta.

On Wednesday, July 16th at 9 am until 9 Am on Thursday, July 17th, we ask that you limit your water usage as we will have to shut down our well for emergency maintenance. We thank you for your cooperation at this time.

Tomorrow, June 18th after 10 AM, the county will be flow testing the hydrants at the new drug Rehab facility off of Layman way. This may cause discolored water. If you get discolored water, run your tub to flush out any colored water from your service line. If this lasts longer then 24 hours, call Kerry at 207-432-3212
