We received a lovely care package from our sister library, Alfred Box of Books (Alfred, NY)! Inside: an Alfred Pizza Pan made from local terra cotta, local artist crafted stationary card, brochure on the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum, a newspaper clipping on the retirement of a staff member, and the business card of a new local store. While our Ukulele Explorers takes a break for the summer, we'd like to invite beginner uke players to a once-a-week strumming session! On Mondays in June and July we'll be sharpening our skills, practicing strumming drills, and playing songs. Join us from 1-2 p.m. each Monday beginning June 1 for Spring and Summer Ukulele Practice! Come make music with us!

What do insects and superheroes have in common? Find out at the next educational workshop featuring local educator and tutor Megan O'Donnell - Insects and Superheroes, happening June 3 from 4:15-5:15 p.m. in the Community Room. You'll find out all kinds of cool things about insects and how they're just like the superheroes you love. Kids age 7-11 are invited to attend this awesome workshop that's sure to get you buzzing!

The Museum is open! The Museum is open! What museum? The Alfred Village Museum! This year's exhibit celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the declaration of independence. The museum's summer hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. and admission is free! If you haven't visited the Alfred Village Museum, this is your chance!
