The Alfred Police Department is proud to announce that its officers attended the Annual New York State STOP-DWI and Mothers Against Drunk Driving Recognition Awards Banquet held in Albany. During the ceremony, the department was honored to receive the Department of the Year Award, recognizing its ongoing commitment to preventing impaired driving and promoting public safety.
The department was also recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the New York State Governor's Traffic Safety Committee, and the New York State Governor's Office for its continued dedication to roadway safety.
Chief VanSkiver was invited to serve as the keynote speaker, where he addressed the ongoing challenges of driving while intoxicated across New York State and reflected on his distinguished career. Chief VanSkiver is recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award and currently leads New York State in DWI arrests.
The department extends its pride and appreciation to all officers for their continued efforts and commitment to keeping the community safe.
