.🚫🔥ELEVATED FIRE DANGER ACROSS NORTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN TODAY...🚫🔥
A combination of drying surface conditions, very low afternoon relative humidity values, and at times gusty west to southwest winds will result in elevated fire danger conditions across northern lower Michigan today.
Sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph with occasional gusts of 20 to 30 mph will be seen over northern Michigan late this morning through this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 30 percent are expected over northern lower Michigan.
These conditions could lead to rapid spread of fires. Always Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning!

There’s a no burn ban for the entire area. Extreme fire danger today. Watch sparks.

***REMINDER***
*** PLANNED POWER OUTAGE INFORMATION ***

We reached out to the Community Affairs manager at Consumers Energy, and as far as they know, this will still happen tonight.

We are aware that many did not receive mailed notifications; however are going to be affected.

Consumers Energy will be doing some work on the Alger Substation on April 23rd from 10 p.m. till 1 a.m. on the 24th. Customers along much of the Skidway circuit and part of the Forest Lake circuit will lose power during that time. Nearly 1700 customers will be affected. Each of them will be notified of the outage ahead of time. Attached is a map of the area being affected. It appears only a small area in Ogemaw and Gladwin counties may be included in this outage.
