Allow me to introduce you to the annual event that is Second Expression. This Juried Art Exhibition and Fundraiser was inspired by the financial need of the Alger Public Library and the desire to provide visibility and income opportunity for the artists of Hardin County. All artwork is created using old or unwanted print media such as could be found in a library, giving a SECOND EXPRESSION to their long life and usefulness.
You are cordially invited to participate in this wonderful event that took place on Saturday, November 3rd., via our page. Even though the actual evening has past, we still have unsold artwork that needs a home or office space to show off the artistic talent of our community.
When a piece of art is sold, 1/2 of the total price is given to the artist and 1/2 is given to the Friends of the Alger Public Library to assist the library with special programming and other library needs.
If you missed this year's event, it's still not too late to donate to the artists of Hardin County and the Alger Public Library. Please stay tuned to our page the next several weeks as we will be posting a few pieces of our unsold artwork each day.
And remember, Second Expression is always the first Saturday in November—so mark your calendar for next year!
