Algona/Pacific Recycling Event is next Saturday, April 9th from 9am-3pm at the Algona City Hall. Do some spring cleaning and bring your items down. Take a look at the information to see what is accepted and what has a fee.
Reminder- Street sweeping will happen this Friday, April 1st for the curbed streets in Algona. Please park off the street if you are able.

Gas Saving Tip ~ Become a volunteer driver for community van and save money!
• You can use the vehicle(s) to transport family and friends to appointments, entertainment, events, and any destinations that supports your family. Must be within a 2 hour radius.
• Drivers are free of charge and passengers are charged at the same rate as using the bus. $2.75 adult-$1.50 youth-$1.00 seniors for a roundtrip.
• See the volunteer driver criteria and call Gary at 253-217-5000 for more information.
We still have sandbags (supplies) available at our Public Works department from 8-5pm. If you need to come from 5-6pm please call Gary at 253-217-5000 to make arrangements. Thank You to our Public Works for your hard work at the North end of town!

Sand bags and supplies are ready. Please enter through the gate at the end of 3rd. You will need to prepare and transport your own sandbags and are limited to 25. We will be there until 6pm tonight. If you have any other questions please call Gary at 253-217-5000.
Through King County's emergency flooding, we will have sandbags available at our Public works department starting at 1pm today. ***You do need to fill yourself and transport, limited to 25 bags*** We have the supplies ready. Please enter 3rd Ave. off Milwaukie, the gate will be open at the end of the road. Please call Gary for more information 253-217-5000.
Auburn Little League still has spaces available for lower division baseball and tee ball. Some of these teams even practice in Algona in Matchett park. For more information check out their website:

Home Town Give away will be in our Front Lobby today from 9-11am. Please use the front doors of the Community Center.
This month's Home Town Community Service give-away program will be Wed. Feb 2nd & Wed. Feb 16th, 9-11am at the Community Center. This program is designed to support the needs of our citizens through donated items.
We are unfortunately going to cancel today's Little Science class at 10am. We fully expect to continue this class and Mommy and me art next month. Keep an eye out in the newsletter and facebook for updated schedule. Thank you for your understanding.

I am writing to update you on our recovery plans for next week barring no more weather issues or King County transfer station limitations.
Our website will be updated and outbound communications will happen at the end of the day, for any customer we could not recover.
Week of 1/3/22
o Garbage - Residential garbage will be the primary focus; collecting double service levels on Thursday, regular service day
o Garbage - Commercial and Roll-off will operate as scheduled and clean up of all extras
o Recycle - Residential recycle collections regularly scheduled this week will be collected
Week of 1/10/22
o Garbage - Residential, Multifamily, Business collections as regularly scheduled
o Yard Waste - Yard Waste not collected the week of 12/27/21 will be collected, double-load
As a reminder our call center will be closed tomorrow, Saturday, January 1 for the holiday.
