Thank you to Northwest Bank for hosting this week’s Chamber Coffee and welcoming our Chamber members into the Algona branch!

Pat Berte, President of the Algona Northwest Bank Branch, and Justin Oman, Ag/Commercial Banker, SVP, introduced many of the Algona staff and shared more about the wide variety of services Northwest Bank provides to individuals, families, businesses, and area ag producers.

They also talked about Northwest Bank’s commitment to giving back and supporting the Algona community whenever possible. From supporting local organizations and events to investing in the people and programs that make our area stronger, community involvement continues to be an important part of what they do.

Thank you to Pat, Justin, and the entire Northwest Bank team for the warm welcome, great refreshments, and continued support of the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce and our community!

WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST CHAMBER MEMBER — VOLUME J!

We’re excited to welcome Volume J to the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce!

Located in a beautifully renovated former train station in Algona, Volume J is much more than a bookstore. It’s a warm, inviting space where great books meet quality conversation.

Browse for your next favorite read, enjoy a beverage, settle into a cozy spot, connect with others over shared stories and ideas—or simply enjoy a quiet moment to yourself.

The vision behind Volume J was to create more than a store. It was to create a sanctuary—a place to slow down, get lost in a world of words, enjoy meaningful conversation, and hopefully discover a little piece of magic with every visit. ✨

We’re pleased to have Volume J as part of our Chamber family and appreciate their investment in Algona and support of our community.

Please join us in welcoming Volume J to the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce!

From Behind the Scenes to Leading the Parade — Meet Our 2026 Grand Marshals!

We are pleased and excited to announce the 2026 Grand Marshals for the 78th Annual Band Day Festival — the dynamic duo of Vicki Mallory and Kim Thilges!

For more than 30 years, these two ladies were a driving force behind one of Algona’s biggest and most beloved traditions.

Kim’s involvement with Band Day began alongside her dad, helping with the parade and learning firsthand what it took to bring this community-wide celebration together. When Vicki became Executive Director of the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce, the two joined forces — and became an unstoppable team!

Year after year, Vicki and Kim dedicated countless hours to organizing, coordinating and growing Band Day, helping make it the incredible celebration we know today. Behind the bands, floats, crowds and excitement were two women working tirelessly to make sure the tradition continued for generations of families to enjoy.

This year, instead of working behind the scenes, they’ll have a well-deserved place at the front of the parade!

It is our pleasure to honor Vicki Mallory and Kim Thilges for their many years of service to Band Day and the Algona community by naming them our 2026 Parade Grand Marshals.

Please join us in congratulating Vicki and Kim — and thanking them for everything they have done for Band Day and for Algona!
