The Algood Fire Department extends its appreciation to Big R Farm & Home for their outstanding support in assisting with the recent acquisition of essential Milwaukee tools for department operations.

Through their assistance, the department was able to procure a 20-inch battery-powered chainsaw, a 9-inch K-12 style cutoff saw, a Milwaukee Sawzall reciprocating saw, battery-powered blowers, a Milwaukee grinder, and two Milwaukee M18 dual-power Rocket tower lights, along with additional tools and batteries.

This equipment will enhance operational capability and firefighter safety across structure fire response, vehicle extrication, overhaul operations, and nighttime scene illumination.

The Algood Fire Department values strong partnerships with local businesses that invest in public safety and help ensure first responders are properly equipped to serve the community effectively.

We sincerely thank Big R Farm & Home for their commitment and continued support of the Algood Fire Department and the citizens we protect.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy every day and will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, we ask everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the day and remember those who paid the ultimate price for our country.

From all of us at Algood Fire & Rescue, we extend our gratitude to the fallen, their families, and all who have served.

Never Forget. Forever Honored.

The members of Algood Fire & Rescue are proud to announce that the department’s revised ISO evaluation score improved from 49.19 to 57.49 following our most recent review.

This improvement reflects the continued progress being made within the department through apparatus upgrades, training, operational improvements, and the continued support and investment from our Mayor, City Council, city administration, and community.

As a combination department made up of approximately 18 volunteer firefighters and 2 full-time personnel, this improvement is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our members, along with the support shown by our community and city leadership.

While this was a revision and not a full ISO evaluation, this increase is another positive step forward as we continue working to strengthen fire protection and emergency response capabilities for the City of Algood.

Our goal goes beyond improving numbers, with a continued focus on strengthening the overall capabilities, readiness, training, and service we provide to our community every day. We remain committed to building upon this progress and continuing to move the department forward.

We appreciate the continued support of our firefighters, city administration, neighboring agencies, and the citizens we are honored and proud to serve every day.

Tonight, members of Algood Fire & Rescue, alongside city leadership, officially welcomed two new apparatus into service during a traditional push-in ceremony.

The push-in ceremony is one of the oldest traditions in the fire service and dates back to the days of horse-drawn fire apparatus. After returning from calls, firefighters would unhitch the horses and physically push the apparatus back into the station by hand because the equipment could not be backed in under its own power.

Today, fire departments across the country continue that tradition as a way to honor the history of the fire service while officially welcoming new apparatus into service.

Tonight, we proudly welcomed:🚒 Engine 2 – a 2017 Rosenbauer Commander equipped with a 1500 GPM pump and 750 gallon water tank🚒 Rescue 1 – a 2019 Pierce Saber equipped with a 1500 GPM pump, 750 gallon water tank, and 20-gallon onboard foam system

These apparatus represent continued investment in firefighter safety, operational readiness, and reliable emergency response for the citizens of Algood.

We would like to thank the Mayor, City Council, City Administration, our firefighters, and especially the citizens of Algood for their continued support and trust in our department. Your support helps make investments like these possible and allows us to continue providing the highest level of service to our community.

We are proud to place these apparatus into service as we continue serving our community with professionalism, pride, and commitment.
