🎶 An evening of music, collaboration, and student talent filled the auditorium at Alhambra High School on May 14th as AUSD’s Middle School Honor String Orchestra and Middle School Honor Band came together for their annual Spring Concert! Proud family members, friends, staff, and community members gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of our young musicians. 🎻🎺

🎵 Middle school students from across the district showcased their hard work through a variety of performances, from classical selections to contemporary favorites. The evening also featured a special performance by the Alhambra High School Jazz Band, whose talented musicians entertained the audience between ensemble sets. 🎷

👏 One of the highlights of the night was the combined performance of the Honor Orchestra and Honor Band. After months of after-school rehearsals, students united on stage for a powerful finale that demonstrated not only their musical growth, but also the teamwork and dedication that make AUSD’s music programs so special.

🎼 A special thank you to our dedicated music educators, including Honor Band Director Dave Batti 👨‍🏫, Marguerita Band Director Andrew Henkin 👨‍🏫, and all of the teachers who inspire and support our students throughout the year. Their commitment helps create opportunities that leave a lasting impact on our young musicians.

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Community members gathered together this past Saturday (June 6th) for the 6th Annual SGV Pride Parade, celebrating inclusion, respect, and belonging throughout the San Gabriel Valley. The parade route from Mark Keppel High School to Barnes Park was filled with colorful displays, community organizations, and supporters coming together for the occasion. 🎉

We were proud 🥰 to see so many Alhambra USD students, staff, and family members participating, along with many allies who came out to support their friends, colleagues, neighbors, and community members. 🌈

Congratulations 👏 and thank you 🫶 to the City of Monterey Park, the Alhambra Teachers Association, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of West San Gabriel Valley & Eastside for organizing another welcoming and community-centered event that continues to bring people together from across the San Gabriel Valley. 🤝

Last month, Ramona School 🏫 welcomed families and community members to its ⭐️ Project Based Learning (PBL) Showcase, where students shared their long-term projects focused on real-world challenges, community impact, and innovative solutions 💡.

Ramona’s focus on Project Based Learning is one of the reasons the school was recently recognized as both a California 🏅 and National 🏆Schools to Watch campus. Through engaging, student-centered learning experiences, students develop the skills to think critically, collaborate 🤝, and make a difference in their communities.

In a couple of weeks, Ramona’s leadership team will travel ✈️ to Washington, D.C. 🏛️ for the National Schools to Watch Conference to receive the school’s official national recognition and present on the accomplishments and practices that earned Ramona so many accolades.
