This morning the Commissioners Court approved moving forward with much needed waterline improvements in Rancho Alegre to improve pressure and add fire hydrants. The $400k project will be funded by a grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture- TxCDBG program.

The Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind residents of Jim Wells County and surrounding counties to keep the following safety tips in mind as you celebrate:

✅ Plan Transportation: Use a sober driver, rideshare, or plan to stay overnight.
✅ Stick Together: Go with a group, stay together, and set a meeting spot.
✅ Stay Connected: Charge your phone and bring a portable charger.
✅ Secure Valuables: Keep phones and wallets in front pockets or secure bags.
✅ Watch Your Drinks: Never leave drinks unattended or accept drinks from strangers.
✅ Be Aware: Know exit routes and stay alert in large crowds.
🚫 Guns & Alcohol/Drugs Do Not Mix: Impaired judgment creates serious danger. If you are drinking, do not handle fi****ms.
⬆️ Remember: What goes up must come down.
