Thank you to Kyle Bender and Tiny Tot Child Development Center for having me visit and tour your facility in Rochester this week!

Kyle has visited my office in Harrisburg multiple times to advocate for early education and always brings along art from his students at the center. A few of them made me some more artwork for my district office while I was visiting.

It was great to meet all the teachers and students!

Today is Memorial Day – a day set aside to honor the more than 1.1 million Americans who have died in wars which the United States entered.

Take a moment today to remember these men and women who sacrificed their lives for us and for our country and consider participating in Memorial Day events in your community. And please, say a prayer for all of our Gold Star families.

The sacrifices of these heroes will not be forgotten.

This week, representatives from IBEW Local 712 and Hartzel and Buehler invited me to tour the new Mitsubishi Electric Power Products advanced switchgear factory in Big Beaver. The goal is to have the factory completed in the next couple of months!

Initially, the factory will produce both vacuum and gas circuit breakers. As the factory scales its operations, it will transition to predominantly manufacturing vacuum circuit breakers. Upon reaching full capacity, it is anticipated that the facility will employ more than 200 full-time workers.

Thank you, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday.

Taxpayer dollars should never fund abortion. A court suddenly finding a “right” to taxpayer-funded abortion after all these years of upholding the Abortion Control Act is the definition of judicial activism. The courts do not write law. And our Supreme Court in the United States has upheld this restriction for many decades.

The Abortion Control Act in PA was passed with super majority bipartisan support and added further protections under former Democrat Governor, Bob Casey Sr.

(WHTM) — Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday has challenged the Commonwealth Court’s ruling last month that found the state’s ban on Medicaid coverage for abortions unconstitution…

Lawmakers, farmers and agriculture advocates gathered at the state Capitol last week for the annual Blessing of the Balers and May is Beef Month Celebration.

The event celebrates the state’s hard-working farmers and related agriculture operations that help keep food on our tables. Balers were blessed in hopes of a productive hay season, and a proclamation was presented to the Pennsylvania Beef Council in recognition of the state’s growing beef industry.

Last week, the House of Representatives passed Alicia’s Law, which would create a dedicated state grant program to help law enforcement find, investigate and prosecute internet predators who target children.

The bill is named for Alicia Kozak, a Pittsburgh-area girl who was abducted in 2002 at the age of 13 by a man she met online. It was one of the first documented cases of its kind in the country. Alicia survived and has spent years advocating for stronger protections so other children don’t go through what she did.

House Bill 1098 would establish the Investigation and Prosecution of Internet Crimes Against Children Program within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The program creates a state-level funding structure to:

• Fund law enforcement task forces made up of state and local prosecutors dedicated to investigating and prosecuting online crimes against minors.
• Supplement federal funding for task forces combating child sexual exploitation online.
• Train task force members on the latest techniques for detecting, investigating and prosecuting these crimes.

These state task forces would work alongside the existing federal Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program, which funds 61 task forces nationally. Currently, Pennsylvania has just one federally funded ICAC task force. Alicia’s Law creates the infrastructure to expand that capacity using state resources.

Alicia’s Law is already on the books in 12 other states. Pennsylvania joining the group through this bill reflects a growing national movement to treat online predation as the serious and organized threat that it is.

The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration.
