A nice surprise for Ladder 91-69 during driver’s training this afternoon.

While out training in the Mallard area, crews stopped by a lemonade stand run by some local kids who were handing out free cups of lemonade to people passing by. With the warm weather today, it was definitely appreciated by the crew.

We always enjoy seeing members of the community out and about, especially young kids doing something positive and putting smiles on people’s faces. Thank you again to the kids on Mallard for the cold drinks and the hospitality this afternoon!

The Allamuchy Fire Department proudly welcomes our new ladder truck to the fleet.

This Pierce Ascendant 107’ Heavy-Duty Aerial Ladder marks a major upgrade in our operational capabilities. With a 107-foot aerial, the truck provides the reach and versatility needed for elevated master streams, ventilation, and access at a wide range of incidents.

Equipped with a 2000 gallon-per-minute pump and a 750 gallon water tank, it can function as both a ladder and an engine—giving crews the flexibility to handle fire attack, support operations, or operate independently when needed.

A 6-member cab allows a full crew to respond together, and the truck is outfitted with full RIC capabilities, ensuring it can play a critical role in firefighter rescue operations.

The hose complement includes:
• 100’ 1.75” front bumper line
• Two 200’ 1.75” cross lays
• One 300’ 1.75” cross lay
• 200’ 2.5” cross lay
• 200’ 3” dead lay
• 500’ of 5” supply hose

This truck is designed to perform across every phase of an incident—from arrival to knockdown to support operations—and represents a significant step forward in how we protect our community.

After decades of dependable service, today we take a moment to look back—and move forward.

Originally built in 1987 and placed into our service in 1997 after coming to us from Racine, Wisconsin, our ladder truck stood ready for whatever came its way. From structure fires and mutual aid across the region to countless drills and standby assignments, it answered the call time and time again without hesitation. Generations of our members trained on it, rode it, and trusted it to get the job done when it mattered most. It wasn’t just a piece of apparatus—it was part of this department’s identity.

That truck saw thousands of responses, countless hours of training, and more than its fair share of hard work. It’s been there on some of our busiest days and stood quietly in the bay waiting for the next one. Through it all, it never asked for recognition—just fuel, maintenance, and a crew ready to go.

Now, as we place our new ladder truck in service, we do so with pride, knowing we’re building on the foundation that came before it. The new truck brings advancements in safety, capability, and efficiency that will better serve our community for years to come—but it also carries on the legacy of the one it replaces.

To everyone who operated, maintained, and took pride in our old ladder over the years—thank you. And to the truck itself… job well done.

Here’s to the next chapter.

A busy start to the week for the Allamuchy Fire Department.

On Monday, April 13, at 08:42, the Allamuchy Fire Department was requested to respond to the Interstate 80 eastbound on-ramp for a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle into the woods. Heavy Rescue 91-75 and Assistant 91 responded within minutes. Upon arrival, crews found that a vehicle had exited the roadway and struck a tree. The driver reported no injuries. Crews provided traffic control and remained on scene until clearing at approximately 10:00.

On Tuesday, April 14, at 18:00, the Allamuchy Fire Department was requested to respond to the area of Meadowlark Lane for a reported structure fire. Assistant 91 responded immediately, followed by Engine 91-61 and Ladder 91-69 and Tanker 91-71. Upon arrival, Assistant 91 found a small fire in the rear porch area of the home that had been mostly extinguished by the homeowner using a garden hose. Crews from 91-61 stretched a handline, confirmed extinguishment, and checked for extension. Crews operated for approximately one hour before clearing the scene.

Later that evening, on Tuesday, April 14, at 21:45, the Allamuchy Fire Department was requested to respond to the area of Route 517 and Bald Eagle Drive for a motor vehicle accident with rollover and entrapment. Chief 91 and Heavy Rescue 91-75 responded immediately. Upon arrival, Chief 91 advised incoming units that the driver was not injured, but required assistance exiting the vehicle. Due to the position of the vehicle, crews from 91-75 removed the windshield to allow the driver to exit safely. Crews then provided traffic control and operated on scene for approximately one hour before clearing.

At 04:16 hours, the Allamuchy Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Ervey Road for a reported structure fire. Assistant Chief 91 and Captain 91 went responding within minutes of dispatch, with Engine 91-61 responding shortly after.

Following updated information from Warren County Communications, Assistant Chief 91 requested a first alarm assignment and a tanker task force.

Captain 91 arrived on location and reported heavy smoke showing from the structure, confirming a working basement fire.

Assistant Chief 91 arrived and established command. A handline was advanced to the basement to locate and extinguish the fire. Access to the basement was limited and the stairwell was compromised; however, the bulk of the fire was knocked down.

Incoming mutual aid from Green Township Fire Department and Hackettstown Fire Department stretched a second line and assisted with extinguishment. Budd Lake Fire Department conducted ventilation operations, Hope Volunteer Fire Department - Station 38 Fire assisted with overhaul following knockdown and Netcong Fire Company No. 1 provided RIT while crews operated on scene.

Units were clear of the scene at approximately 08:30 hours.

The Allamuchy Fire Department would like to thank all mutual aid agencies that responded and assisted

This weekend, members of our department traveled to Pierce Manufacturing to carry out the final inspection of our new Ladder 91-69.

Final inspection is a long-standing tradition and a critical step in the process. It allows our members to go over every detail of the apparatus, ensure it meets our specifications, and confirm everything is ready for service before it leaves the factory.

Ladder 91-69 is a Pierce Heavy Duty Velocity 107' aerial ladder equipped with a 2000 GPM pump and a 750-gallon water tank. This truck will serve as a major upgrade for our department and will be a key piece of apparatus in protecting our community for years to come.

This delivery also marks the end of an era, as it replaces our 1987 ladder truck after 39 years of dedicated service.

We appreciate the continued support from our community and thank our council for working alongside us to make this project possible. Ladder 91-69 is now one step closer to coming home, and we look forward to placing it into service soon.

❄️ Snow Day = Hydrant Day! 🚒

With all this snow on the ground, we want to remind everyone how important it is to keep fire hydrants clear and accessible. In an emergency, every second counts—and a buried hydrant can cost precious time.

If you’ve got a day off or the kids are home from school, turn it into a family snow mission ⛄️
Grab some shovels, bundle up, and make it fun!

Its isn’t just helpful—it’s a small act that can make a huge difference for your neighbors.

Thank you for helping us help you. Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy the snow! ❄️🚒
