Lynn Bullard joined the Allegan Courts on February 1st as the director of the Friend of the Court Office. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Ms. Bullard obtained her Certified Court Manager certificate from the Institute of Court Management in October 2019. She has a history of public service having served as the Friend of the Court in Van Bure County for over 28 years as well as the Family Division Administrator in Van Buren County for several years, before coming to Allegan Courts. Ms. Bullard serves on several statewide committees and associations related to Michigan’s child support program.

Yesterday, Allegan was honored to welcome Michigan Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Welch, who stopped by to help celebrate four graduates of the Alternative Contempt Track (ACT) program. ACT is a program that helps people who are unable to pay their child support by assisting with removing barriers like unemployment, substance abuse, homelessness, and mental health issues. Friend of the Court Enforcement Officer, Jessica Castaneda, works closely with participants to help them set and meet goals, with the Honorable Margaret Zuzich Bakker presiding over the program. These four graduates worked tirelessly to not only meet their program goals, but greatly surpass them. Allegan was also happy to welcome Ottawa County representatives, who have also recently started a similar program, as well as representatives from Cass County, who are working on creating program for their county. Allegan was the first county in Michigan to create an ACT program, and we continue to work to spread this service to other counties around the state. We would like to welcome 2 new faces to the Circuit Court team! Meet Sarah and Tayler.

Tayler, Circuit Court Law Clerk:
I was born and raised in Wyoming, MI, and I still currently reside there. Prior to earning my JD at Michigan State, I earned a BA in psychology and criminal justice from Notre Dame College, as well as an AA in psychology from Lake Michigan College. My hobbies include playing softball (which I played throughout high school and college), playing with two cats and dog, and crocheting.

Sarah, Receptionist/Scheduling Clerk:
I currently live in Grand Junction MI on a small hobby horse farm with my husband Dan, 3 horses, 2 dogs, and 9 cats. In my free time I enjoy attending Ranch Horse shows and cattle sorting events. I have a background in agriculture, and insurance. I enjoy learning new things and being part of a team.

We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Brink has accepted the post of Circuit Court Administrator with the Allegan County Circuit Court. Ms. Brink has been a valuable member of the Circuit Court team since 2013. She graduated from Arizona Summit Law School in 2010 and began her career in Allegan as a victim advocate for Sylvia’s Place. She transitioned to the Court in 2013. We are excited to have Ms. Brink as part of leadership in the Circuit Court.
