Allegheny County Emergency Services, alongside City of Pittsburgh EMA, just wrapped up a presentation for an AARP group at Ebenezer Church in Pittsburgh about PEMA’s Preparing Together initiative.

These presentations help inform community members about ways they can prepare for emergencies, including completing an emergency preparedness booklet with important information such as medications, emergency contacts, and medical details.

Every step helps create a more prepared community when emergencies strike. Plan, prepare, prevent, and stay safe!

Last month, at the Giant Eagle in Greenfield, our 9-1-1 TCOs, a Good Samaritan, Giant Eagle employees, and response agencies from the City of Pittsburgh were involved in a sudden cardiac arrest save.

With the help of our TCOs’ instructions, CPR was performed and, with the aid of responding agencies, the patient survived.

Last night, those involved were recognized for their lifesaving efforts and were able to meet the patient they helped save. What a great way to honor EMS Week!

TCO: Valerie Franciscus
EMS Dispatcher: Kelly Kirschner
Fire Dispatcher: Laura Rohosky
Police Dispatchers: Patsy Conte and Jasmine Abram
