Our 2nd shout out of the week goes to Ms. Genevieve for reading 500 Books Before Middle School.🏫🥳

Did you know we have 4 year-long reading programs?

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is for kids ages 0-5

500 Books Before Middle School is for kids in grades K-5th.

200 Books Before Graduation is for tweens and teens in grades 6-12.

100 Books In A Year is for adults ages 18+ who want to tackle the challenge of trying to read at least 100 books in a calendar year.

All our reading challenges are 100% FREE and you do not have to live in Allen Park to participate.

If you'd like to join Genevieve and challenge yourself to one of these programs, stop by the Circulation Desk and sign up.

🚨🥫 PLEASE BRING A FOOD DONATION! 🥫🚨

When you come to Concert for a Cause, don’t arrive empty-handed! Dedicated to Downriver is partnering with Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry for a food drive to help feed families throughout our community—and we need everyone’s help!
📅 Monday, August 31, 2026
⏰ 5:00–9:00 PM
📍 The Grecian Center
16300 Dix Toledo Rd., Southgate, MI 48195
Please bring shelf-stable food items such as:
🥣 Cereal
🥜 Peanut butter
🥫 Canned vegetables, soup or beans
🍝 Pasta and other nonperishable foods

Donations can be dropped off at the Fish & Loaves truck at the front gate or at the Fish & Loaves vendor table inside the event.
🔥 OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE THIS FOOD DRIVE RECORD-BREAKING! Fish & Loaves will report the total weight of all donations collected, so every box, jar and can matters.

Back in my happy place at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. I made all of our “armor” out of a thrifted leather jacket and it turned out so good I think 🔥 A sweet soul walked up and said we miss you on TV, hope you find everything you want. Almost brought me to tears, I can’t believe how kind people are, I’m undeserving ❤️ what are you doing today?
