Did you know on Sundays we deliver food to the community for free?
I used to use a cool app called Too Good To Go which I LOVE! As well would just go donate to hospitals, fire departments, senior centers, etc.
But a man once came into my shop and asked if he could give me $10 could I just give him some food for his neighbor who is elderly, disabled and gets Meals on Wheels but isn't enough food each week. And I said you don't even have to give me $10! He comes every Sunday and picks up for neighbors.
Of course I have done Pay What You Want since I started out of my home and do it sporadically at the store.
Then, I started a list of people we deliver to on Sundays. For free. No questions asked. Just food we load in the bag. They also tell me their preference.
One of them recently touched my heart. She said "We can't just get Gluten Free Food from food banks. It is not there." It was a point I hadn't thought of. It made me want to be more intentional to giving back to our Gluten Free Community specifically.
It also makes me want to expand our list. 🚚
Like when I say I do nothing for money, I hope it shows ❤️ I do what we do to HELP and that is reflected in my prices also. I will ALWAYS stand by NOBODY should be upcharged for a disease!! And small business should ALWAYS give back to the community that supports them!
I am building a portion of my website this week to include this information and ability to being added to the list but if you are in need today, THIS Sunday or know someone who is please, PM me to be added to today's deliveries.
