In March, Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team (MNET) detectives began an investigation into a group distributing fentanyl. On May 20, MNET executed eight search warrants in the Metro area.
In total, detectives seized 3,472 grams of fentanyl, 75 grams of he**in, and 14 fi****ms. Of the fi****ms, 3 had suppressors, 4 are reported as stolen, and 1 is a fully automatic rifle.
Investigators seized over $50,000 in cash and 3 vehicles with intent to forfeit. The investigation is ongoing.
MNET is an MSP multi jurisdictional unit comprised of detectives assigned from Allen Park PD, Taylor PD, Van Buren PD, Wyandotte PD, Michigan State Police and US Border Patrol.
MNET was assisted by the MSP 2nd District Headquarters, MANTIS, LAWNET, MTI, , , SWAT, and BORTAC.
