250 years ago, a group of regular citizens put ink to parchment and committed to a radical idea: that freedom is an inherent human right.
Today, as we look back on a quarter-millennium of that great experiment, we are reminded that liberty is not a static piece of history. It is a living inheritance.
The promises made in 1776 were not completely fulfilled on day one. They are a continuous challenge, passed down from one generation to the next, to keep building a more perfect union.
Let's celebrate how far we have come, appreciate the distance we still have to travel, and recommit to the hard work of freedom.
Have a safe, happy, and truly historic Fourth. 🎇
