After a very long day we are proud to announce both ensembles received a Superior rating at heartland music festival!

In the combined ensemble the trumpet section received a distinguished section award.

Sam Wilson earned a distinguished soloist award for the High School Ensemble.

Due to some changes with bands dropping out here is the UPDATED schedule for this Saturday.

Heartland Music Festival
Tentative Itinerary April 29th
Arrive at the School at 5:45 A.M. on Saturday.
Bus Leaves at 6.
Arrive at Edmond Santa Fe at 8:00 A.M.
8:20 A.M. HS warmup
8:40 HS Performance
9:00 Combined Band warm-up
9:20 Combined Band Performance.
9:40 Head to breakfast
10:00 Breakfast TBD, Breakfast is not provided (accommodations can be made for those that may need it.)
10:30 Head to the park.
11:00 Park opens
Lunch will be handed out at this time.
Awards Ceremony 5:45.
6:00 Depart from Frontier City back to Allen
8:00 Arrival back at the band hall.

There is discount pricing available for chaperones at the park. All students must remain in their groups.

Hello Allen Band Families,

​We are excited to start a Band Booster Club this year. To have a Band Boosters is a parent volunteer organization that is dedicated to supporting the students and excellent music programs at Allen Public School. The booster provides operational logistic for all aspects of the program, fundraising, food preparation and necessary support to run the program. This will allow Mr. Bettencourt to concentrate on the teaching of the students and we encourage all parents to come out to be involved with their son’s/daughter’s music activity. The boosters provide much needed support to operate the band in an efficient manner.

​One of the most important parts of our efforts is FUNDRAISING! Our fundraising efforts provide the program and the necessary funds for new instruments and repairs, uniform purchases and upkeep, and support equipment and music books that keeps the program running smoothly.

​Your participation is vital to our ability to reach our musical and financial goals. There are many ways beyond financial donations to help with our music programs. Volunteering and actively participating in your child’s music education is imperative. To have a successful program, we need your participation in our major band performances such as the state fair, competitions and Frontier City. These shows are key elements to the success of our program and starting this year we are asking for your participation to at least volunteer three activities. This will ensure that every program has enough support for maximum success.

​We are working on a schedule to have our first Band Booster meetings and it will be on the school calendar in the band section. We encourage for all band parents to attend and help guide the future success of the program. These meetings will be about the band and its activities and provide an opportunity to socialize with other band parents and to ask questions to Mr. Bettencourt.

​Becoming an active member in our efforts helps promote the success of your children within the music program at our school, and it helps everyone achieve a higher level of success.
