Safe seniors are happy seniors.

So far in 2026, the Allen Fire Department and our incredible volunteers have completed 99 Steady Together home visits, and we’re just getting started. With hundreds more home visits planned, we need your help to keep making a difference.

We’re currently seeking donations of environmental modifications, including:
-Grabber tools
-Night lights
-Non-slip bath mats
-Non-slip socks
-24-36” Grab bars
-Surge-protected extension cords
-Other fall prevention items

Every donation helps us make another home a little safer and another senior a little steadier.

Two years ago today, we hit "publish" on something bigger than a video... we launched a movement.

Alongside our partners at Allen Police Department, the City of Allen City Hall Engineering Department, and Allen Independent School District, the Allen Fire Department launched DRIVE to Thrive with one simple goal: make our roads safer for everyone.

Together, our community didn't just meet that goal—we exceeded it, helping reduce injury crashes in Allen by 11% through education, engineering, enforcement, and, most importantly, the commitment of drivers like you. While the official campaign has wrapped up, the message is just as important today as it was on day one. Every trip is another opportunity to make a difference.

Remember the five keys to DRIVE:

D – Don't drive distracted
R – Reserve extra time
I – Increase your Driver IQ
V – Value kindness
E – Expect the unexpected

As we look back on the last two years, we hope you'll continue carrying these lessons with you every time you get behind the wheel. Safe driving isn't a campaign—it's a choice we make every day.
