The Allen Parks Foundation was established in August 2001 as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation.

Purpose
The primary purpose of the Foundation:
• to assist the City of Allen and governmental partners, local groups and organizations in enhancing the overall park system and recreational facilities through expanded development of parks and recreational programming
• to accept land, bequests, rights of way, and other donations to further the mission of the Foundation
•
to support and improve
the recreational opportunities in the park system which enhances the community and the citizen's quality of life

Every Saturday during the month of October from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Cece's nest site, search parties can gear up with the help of Allen Parks Foundation Parks Ambassadors. We will be giving away a Search Party backpack OR t-shirt (one per party, quantities limited) and Cece bait* to help in your search!
Allen Parks Foundation sponsored the t-shirts modeled by Foundation President Jim Waldbauer (children's shirts are heathered gray).
*Cece bait is safe to consume after your search party heads home for the day.

APF at Summer Sounds concert series: Allen Philharmonic Orchestra performing a Labor Day weekend concert outside of Allen City Hall.
Tonight, at the City Council meeting the Council formally accepted the donation of over 104 acres of floodplain on the McDermott property to be known as the Eugene McDermott Park.
Allen Parks Foundation accepted a generous donation from the Margaret McDermott Revocable Trust and Mary McDermott Cook presented the check for the maintenance of the park.
Allen is also home to one of the most scenic and beautiful properties in North Texas.

We know you love Allen parks! Hopefully you have heard about this upcoming public meeting about Allen's newest recreation facility. At the meeting, there will be a presentation about current planning for the new recreation facility and a Q&A session. The recreation facility will be located south of the intersection of Exchange Parkway and Ridgeview Drive.
We’re hosting our annual fundraiser out on the trails this year! Please join us on Watters Trail for a very unique and relaxing experience, taking in the trails, the scenery, the environment, the chirping birds and the….wait for it….craft brews!?!
The Allen Parks Foundation will be hosting a special “Party on the Path” at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 22 on the “Watters Trail” between Bethany Drive and the Yeager Office Suites. Come out, enjoy one of Allen’s awesome trails, and sample some craft brews from local breweries including Franconia and Tupp’s at this one-of-a-kind event. Our friends at Yeager Properties are excited to host you and the Allen Parks Foundation’s first craft brew trail!

The Allen Parks Foundation and the Dallas County Cricket Club will be hosting a benefit tournament to bring the world of Cricket to Allen on June 2nd, 2018. This will be a one-day only tournament and will be played on two cricket fields at Celebration Park. Proceeds from the tournament will assist the Allen Parks Foundation in its mission of enhancing the park system in Allen.
After the Championship Games, there will be an awards presentation and Celebration at Nine Band Brewery in Allen starting at 6:00 p.m. All participants will receive a coupon for free food and a beverage.
Please be sure to attend the festivities!

Entries will be accepted for the 2017 Allen Rotary Christmas Parade starting October 1. The parade, which is sponsored by the Allen Sunrise and Allen Noon Rotary Clubs, will be held on Sunday December 3 starting at 2 p.m. Local youth groups, schools, churches, businesses and community organizations…
Cooler weather is around the corner but the sports are heating things up!! We're down to the last week before our annual fundraiser "Tailgate Throwdown", THIS SATURDAY!! Come experience some great food by Chef George Brown and Kelly Family Farms, along with drinks and tailgating music. We've got some tailgating activities to keep you busy too! There may be some "team bragging" going on so don't forget to come casual and wear your favorite team jersey! All for a great time supporting the Allen Parks Foundation. It's a beautiful morning, we are celebrating Trails Day at Cottonwood Creek Trail.. we have snacks and water bottles. Stop by and say hello to Allen Parks Foundation and learn about our exciting projects.
Looks like it will be a great weekend to get out on your trails in Allen! Just wanted to remind everyone that the Allen Parks Foundation will be out on Cottonwood Creek Trail (by the old stone dam) THIS Saturday from 8 a.m. to Noon. We'll have some maps of the trails along with some drinks, snacks and stuff! The folks from Velofix will also be out there with their mobile bike shop to give you a shot of air or a bike check! Come check us out, stop by and say hi!

National Trails Day? Cottonwood Creek Trail? If this looks familiar to you, DON'T WORRY, you're not going crazy! Our rained-out trails day event from last month has been rescheduled for September 9th! We'll be out there at the same time (8 a.m. to noon) and the same place (near the Old Stone Dam.) Keep an eye on our page in the future for more info! It's never too early to plan for a day on the trail!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our outdoor screening of The Jungle Book! Having a community like ours makes having events like this one a blast! We hope to see you at the next one! In the meantime, keep an eye on our page for more Allen Parks Foundation news!
Unfortunately, due to the rain this morning and the outlook of the rain continuing, we are CANCELLING today's event for National Trails Day on Cottonwood Creek Trail. We'll hope for some cooperation from the weather for next Friday night, for our Movie Night in the Park at Dayspring Nature Preserve.
While we had to cancel our National Trails Day event, we hope to see you out on the trail in the future! Hopefully on a day that's a bit sunnier than today!
