On Monday, Your Allendale Fire Department proudly celebrated Dominic Grabinski as he completed all the requirements to become a full member of the Allendale Fire Department! 🚒

This achievement represents countless hours of training, commitment, and perseverance. Dominic accomplished this while balancing family life with his wife and five children, including welcoming their newest addition this past March.

Accomplishments like this are never achieved alone. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Dominic's wife and family for the time, patience, and sacrifices they have made throughout this journey. Your support has been an essential part of his success.

Please join us in congratulating Dominic on this well-earned milestone and thanking his family for standing beside him every step of the way.

Our neighbors to the east Wright-Tallmadge Firefighters Association got called to Canada to help fight the wild fires. Canada didn't like yellow fire trucks and had to call the A Team!

AIR QUALITY ALERT: The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has issued a Statewide Air Quality Alert for today, July 15, and tomorrow, July 16, for elevated levels of fine particulate matter due to Canadian wildfire smoke.

Starting around 5pm you will start to see the smoke take over. You will probably smell it as well. Please do not overwhelm 911 with smoke investigation calls.

Tonight the Allendale Fire Department had our annual Apparatus Clean Up/Family Picnic. We had 63 of our members and family attend. We had a terrific turn out. We have to make sure we remember our families, if we did not, we would not be able to do the job!

Today we hosted Congresswoman Hillary Scholten to Allendale Fire to talk about Assistance to Firefighters Grants. We also demonstrated a Live Burn. This was all done as we work on a regional grant between Allendale, Crockery, Spring Lake, Marne and Zeeland City Fire Departments.

Rain or shine, the last day of school is a reason to celebrate!
Today, Allendale Fire Department helped send students off into summer break with a traditional bus spray-down. Even though Mother Nature brought plenty of rain of her own, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to continue the tradition and help make the last day of school a little more memorable.
We hope all of the students, teachers, and staff have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer. Congratulations on another successful school year!

During the early morning hours, Your Allendale Fire Department responded to assist the Wright Tallmadge Fire Department with a structure fire alongside multiple neighboring departments. Thankfully, all occupants were able to safely make it out of the home.

This fire serves as an important reminder of a simple but life-saving fire safety habit: sleep with your bedroom doors closed.

As seen in these photos, the fire heavily damaged parts of the home, while rooms protected by closed doors remained mostly intact. A closed door can help slow the spread of fire, heat, and toxic smoke, giving you and your family valuable extra time to escape safely.

Closing bedroom doors at night may only take a second, but it could make the difference between life and death during a house fire.

This incident also highlights the importance of strong mutual aid partnerships. Departments from across the area worked together to quickly bring the fire under control and keep everyone safe.

Please take a moment tonight to check your smoke alarms and close your bedroom doors before going to sleep. Stay safe.
