This week at Allendale Senior Living, residents traveled from America to Korea to Paris through the power of music, culture, and cuisine!

Our Buddha’s Birthday celebration featured beautiful performances by Ridgewood High School musicians Ethan and Aiden Han, followed by stunning traditional Korean dances by Tiffany (Taehee Jung) and Kate Kim, including the revered Monk’s Dance and a colorful fan dance performed in authentic ceremonial attire.

The afternoon concluded with delicious Korean specialties prepared by our Dietary team. A special thank you to Jaeeun Kim, the Borisa Buddhist Temple, our volunteers, and all who helped make this enriching cultural celebration possible.

Last week to celebrate Nursing Week, Executive Director Dan Silva and the incredible Allendale team hosted an unforgettable Fun-Fest in our central courtyard! Team members from Assisted Living, Journeys Memory Care, Allendale Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, and Nursing enjoyed refreshing fruit smoothies, a delicious outdoor BBQ, and live reggae music under the sun 🎶☀️🍔

It was a day full of appreciation, laughter, and well-deserved recognition for the compassionate professionals who make a difference every single day.

Our ties to Bergen County's Korean community are evident to all living at Allendale Senior Living.

This Mother's Day weekend our residents enjoyed a concert by a brass ensemble led by Pastor Choi. Two young brothers handcrafted corsages for our residents and presented them with love to all the ladies Sunday morning. The kindness and warm interaction touched many hearts. Thanks to Jaeeun Kim, Director of Korean Community Marketing and Programming, for making our Mother's Day celebrations extra special!

We're off to the races!

This week, our residents embraced the spirit of Churchill Downs, celebrating the 125th running of the "race for the roses".

Our residents recognize The Kentucky Derby, as an annual rite of Spring, the first Saturday in May and the first jewel in the prized Triple Crown!

We enjoyed delectable tea sandwiches, turkey and cheese sliders, fried chicken and mint juleps while wearing pretty bonnets.

We followed that up with a game of Kentucky Derby trivia, followed by singing "My Old Kentucky Home" during a live concert with Pete.
