SNOWSTORM REMINDER...
Heavy and deep snow amounts can block and/or cover your home's gas meter, creating a potential dangerous condition.
Always clear the area around your home's gas meter with something NON-METALLIC (brooms, plastic shovels, etc) so you don't damage any of the meter's fittings.
Also, make sure you clear the area in front of any exhaust pipe on your home's exterior walls. The free clearance of these pipes is essential to make sure fumes do not back up into the home.

By all predictions, our area is looking at another major snow event, starting Sunday afternoon & into Monday.
Please remember the following:
1. Please remove cars from roadways so our DPW can more effectively, completely and safely plow our streets
2. If you don't have to go out during the storm, DON'T. It allows our public works and first responders to do their work without responding to avoidable crashes and stuck vehicles.
3. Clearing snow from sidewalks and/or driveways back into the street is against Ordinance and counterproductive to the efforts of our public works.
4. Remember to fully clean off cars of snow/ice before driving. Failure to do so is not only illegal but dangerous!
Stay safe (and warm)

Whether you are clearing your own driveway, or having someone else do it, don't forget the fire hydrants, if you have one near your house. The few extra minutes will certainly assist the Fire Dept, if the need arises!

DON'T BE THIS GUY!
NJ State Law requires drivers to clear their vehicle of snow/ice before driving, which includes the top of the vehicle and the sides.
Failure to properly clear your vehicle creates a dangerous condition for the vehicles around you as the snow/ice dislodge, possibly hitting the vehicles around you.
