If you haven’t requested your mail-in ballot yet, how comma? This comma butterfly wants to know!

LVSU volunteer, Lauren, here! I submitted my request at the end of September, received email notifications every step of the way, and was able to mail my ballot out today and share my sticker with this beautiful butterfly.

The deadline to request a mail-in or absentee ballot is 5pm on October 27th, and your ballot must be received by the county election office by 8pm on November 3rd. You can return your completed ballot by mail, drop box, or at your county election office. I would recommend drop box or election office if you want to ensure your ballot is received in time. Be sure to sign and date your return envelopes!

Visit pa.gov to double check your registration status, request a mail-in ballot, or find your polling place. Happy voting! 🗳️

Our Troublemakers' Cafe team had an incredible time hosting another Spoken Word as Resistance open mic night last month!

DJ led our crowd through our theme: Layers of Labor! They offered writing prompts and quiet writing time ahead of performances. During the open mic, participants shared new and old pieces, which led to open discussions about exploitation from corporations and AI data centers, and exploration of labor for the sake of helping ourselves and others without worrying about being exploited.

We will back at Gems & Joe for another Spoken Word as Resistance open mic on Saturday, November 28th! More details to come! In the meantime, be sure to sign up for our next team planning meeting on Thursday, November 5th.

📣Show up Tuesday October 6th at 7pm at Bethlehem City Hall (10 E Church St) for the public hearing about Bethlehem's data center ordinance. We need to tell them how important this is to our community, and that they owe it to themselves and us to make the strongest ordinance possible! We NEED strong regulations to protect us from big tech! 📣

📣Sign up at tinyurl.com/nodcbethlehem or at the QR code in our next slide!! Tell your friends, tag them in the comments, let's show up! 📣

Last week, our Troublemakers' Cafe team hosted our first Voting! Zine Workshop at Soft Machine Gallery in Allentown.

Participants got to create handmade zines focused on voter registration, voting rights, and nonviolent election protection. We also had an open discussion on why voting in this midterm election is so important.

Time is ticking down! Be sure to register to vote before Monday, October 19th, and apply for a mail in ballot no later than Tuesday, October 27th. Join our Troublemakers' Cafe team to plan more events like this workshop, and check out the link in our bio for nonviolent election protection training with Lehigh Valley Stands Up!

Our traveling door has moved! Come see people's housing stories and share your own at CAT (Coalition for Appropriate Transportation) at 33 W Walnut St in Bethlehem. Safe, affordable housing is a human right, yet this is far from the reality in the Lehigh Valley. Our lived housing struggles deserve to have a voice. The door will be at CAT through October 7th, after which it will head over to the north branch of the Bethlehem Public Library! Make sure to come see it!
