We had a great time last evening at National Night Out hosted by our Salisbury Police. We are fortunate to have a community of such amazing people. Thank you to our police and all of the volunteers who helped make this event possible. It was also great to see all five of our Salisbury Township Commissioners, employees and other officials present. Great work by all involved!

Great news for residents of South Allentown! The city has started demolition of the old Roosevelt Park pool house in preparation for a new splash pad set to open next summer.

The city posted on Facebook Friday about the demolition of the pool house at Roosevelt Park.

Earlier this week I picked up pizza and stopped by the second class of the Salisbury Police Youth Academy. After lunch, I spoke with the cadets about the role of the District Court in our criminal justice system and how youth offenders may find themselves before the court. The cadets will graduate in a ceremony later today!

Earlier this afternoon I had the honor of speaking at the graduation ceremony of the first ever Salisbury Township Police Youth Academy. Ten graduates completed the weeklong academy which included various hands on activities and demonstrations by Salisbury Police and local first responders. The graduates’ parents as well as Lieutenant Casey, Commissioner Debra Brinton, and Assistant Principal Brennan were also in attendance for the graduation. The Youth Police Academy was organized by Officer Nothstein who deserves a lot of credit for his commitment to the youth of our Salisbury community. A second academy class for 7th grade youth begins Monday.

Serving our community as District Judge often extends beyond the courtroom. I recently had the privilege of speaking to the Scouts of Troop 146 about our Constitution and the rights it affords. I also spoke about my role as District Judge and how the court serves our community.

Congratulations Officer King! It was an honor to preside over your swearing in. Welcome to our Salisbury community.

The Salisbury Township Police Department would like to congratulate and welcome Officer Levi King to our department.

Officer King grew up in Kempton, Pa and graduated last month from the Allentown Police Academy’s 117th class, where he earned several top awards for his marksmanship abilities. He was recently sworn in by Judge Kyle B Miller and begins his first week of field training in a few days. He is married and the father of one daughter.

We wish Officer King a long, healthy, safe, and rewarding career with our agency. We are confident he will make a meaningful difference in our community.
