On this Memorial Day, The IAFF Local 3874 of Upper Freehold stand together in remembrance of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

As we gather with family and friends, let us take a moment to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms. Their legacy lives on in our hearts, and we are forever grateful.

Upper Freehold Career Staff - Shop 82 along with Hope Fire Co. operated at this vehicle carrier fire this morning.

Today around 1:30 pm, Shop 82 was dispatched to the New Jersey Turnpike northbound truck lane in the area of MM 56.4 for a multi vehicle accident that included 2 coach busses. Crews worked to triage patients, and extricated multiple patients out of multiple vehicles. Over 40 patients were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

Elevated risk for the spread of wildfires today. Monmouth County is in the “Very High” classification. Please avoid any outdoor burning today.

⚠️ Elevated Risk for the Spread of Wildfires - Thursday, May 1

US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly has issued a Special Weather Statement for the elevated risk for the spread of wildfires in New Jersey today.

❗️SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT:
There is an elevated risk for fire spread today for New Jersey. Minimum relative humidity values will be in the 25-35% range. This will be accompanied by east-southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. These conditions, along with the continued drying of fine fuels, could support the rapid spread of any fires that ignite, which could quickly become difficult to control. Winds will decrease toward sunset as relative humidities begin to increase.

The IAFF Local 3874 – Upper Freehold is proud to welcome our newest firefighter, William Peterpaul! Today marks Will's first day with us, and we are excited to have him on board.

Will began his fire service journey in August 2020 with Wanamassa Fire Company, where he remains an active member, as well as Sea Bright Fire Rescue. His passion for emergency services was sparked during his time as a lifeguard at the Allenhurst Beach Club, where he developed a deep appreciation for public safety. Outside of his firefighting duties, he enjoys surfing and fishing in his spare time.

He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security at Monmouth University and is halfway toward completing his degree.

We warmly welcome Will to the team and wish him a long, happy, and successful career in the fire service !

This Easter, we celebrate renewal, hope, and the strong bond that ties our firehouse family and community together. Just as spring brings new beginnings, our commitment to safety and service remains unwavering.

We are grateful for the trust and support of those we serve every day. As families gather, children hunt for eggs, and the season of growth unfolds, let’s all take a moment to appreciate the warmth of community and the joy of giving back.

⚠️⚠️ Smell of smoke in our area⚠️⚠️

The smoke is from a Wildfire in South Jersey. We maybe experiencing the smoke conditions due to a southern wind tonight. Residents may smell smoke until the wind changes.

We understand this may be concerning to some people, but this fire does not pose a danger to our community. As always, if you are concerned, feel free to call the fire department, and we can come out and evaluate the situation.

Thank You for your assistance in this situation. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is working on the Wildfire.

Today Firefighter Fanning is working his last shift here in Upper Freehold. Luke will be starting at Monroe Fire District 3 later this month. We want to thank firefighter Fanning for everything he’s done and we want to wish him a happy and healthy career in Monroe Township
