As part of Week Without Violence, YWCA USA is hosting a national virtual event on October 20 at 3 p.m. featuring clips from Watch You Rise and a live conversation with the filmmakers.

Directed by Isabella Grace Cohn, the film follows a young filmmaker as she uncovers stories of s*xual assault experienced by her mother, her peers, and eventually herself. Along the way, she meets survivors, perpetrators, and experts to explore s*x, power, consent, healing, and the cycles of harm that can impact individuals and communities.

Join us for a powerful conversation exploring safety, justice, healing, and the systemic changes needed to end gender-based violence.

Young people are disproportionately impacted by intimate partner violence, s*xual assault, grooming, and exploitation, yet their voices are too often left out of conversations about prevention, healing, and change.

Today is , and we’re joining YWCA USA and sister YWCAs all over the world to call attention to the fact that child marriage is still allowed in a whopping 33 states here in the U.S.

Child marriage creates barriers to the ability of girls to access education and financial stability and significantly increases the likelihood of experiencing domestic violence for children into their adulthood. This share this post to call attention to the problem and to remind our elected leaders that solutions are possible.
