HONOR ISN’T JUST A WORD — IT’S A WAY OF LIFE. 🇺🇸
Today, RSS Allentown came together for our monthly Pool Function and put in the work with the Combat Fitness Test (CFT) — testing our strength, endurance, and ability to perform when it matters most.
But today was about more than physical fitness.
We took time to talk about one of the Marine Corps’ core values: HONOR, and the legacy of GySgt John Basilone — a Marine whose courage, selflessness, and devotion to his fellow Marines defined what it means to live with honor.
Honor is doing the right thing when nobody is watching. It’s keeping your word. It’s holding yourself accountable. It’s refusing to compromise your standards when things get difficult. You don’t suddenly become a person of honor when you earn the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor — you build that character long before you ever step on the yellow footprints.
That’s what these Pool Functions are about. Getting stronger. Becoming disciplined. Building character. And preparing to earn the title UNITED STATES MARINE.
Train the body. Strengthen the mind. Build the character. Earn the title.
