Miss Miller's 5th grade class had a fun experiment today in science! 🔬🌊

They learned about the ocean and tested to see how salt behaves when placed in water and how it changes the weight of the water once it dissolves. The students created little oceans on paper to see what happens once the water dissolves by tomorrow!

Allentown Police Department Detective Luis Garcia came by today to read to Mrs. Geist's Kindergarten class! 🚓🚲

After reading 2 fun stories about police officers, he showed them his uniform, and they tried on his helmet! The class also received their own Allentown Police "Badge" stickers. Thank you, Officer Garcia!

Our students in grades 1-4 had a great day at the museum today! 🖼🎨

They played the Visual Explorers game with their teachers and museum staff to see what they think, what they see, and what they wonder about certain artworks. Thank you to Teacher Tuerk and Mr. D for helping plan our museum trip and to the Art Museum staff, Nicole and Emma, for welcoming us!

This past Friday, we kicked off our annual educational tours at the Allentown Art Museum with our 5th grade classes! This season's theme of the Visual Explorers Program is Art 🖼️ and Industry 🏭, designed in partnership by AAECS' Daniel Djuro-Goiricelaya, Teacher Tuerk and AAM's Education leaders, Nicole Mangold and Abby Simmons. AAECS teachers, Mrs. Juszynski, Mrs. Hoever, Miss Miller and Miss Christiansen; and arts teachers Mr. Hallman and Mr. Doerner, explored the relationship between art and industry with their students, featuring works that depict or represent Pennsylvania's industries of steel and coal. Learning continues back in the classroom, to be shared as we progress through the project!
