Yesterday, our 3rd shift personnel trained in rope rescue at the Alliance Casting property. It is always good for us to get our hands on the gear and train in a live scenario. This allows us to take our time, know the gear, and do the work in a controlled environment. That way if or when the real event may happen we are prepared and it is second nature for us.

On monday prior to the regular council meeting, Mayor Grove swore in our newest probationary firefighter Adam Blaisman. We want to welcome him to the department! He is a third generation firefighter in his family and we look forward to having him in our ranks and watching him grow with the department! Congratulations Adam!!

Our crews took part in Safety Town on Monday and Tuesday at the Commons. They showed the kids the truck, had the safety trailer there for the kids to learn about calling 911, fire safety, and how to get out of a smokey environment in the case of a house fire. We hope all the kids were able to learn and have fun at the same time.

The haze and smell is from the Canadian wildfires...the jet stream is pushing it down over northeast Ohio. It will most likely be here for the next few days. If you have respiratory issues please try to stay inside or wear a mask when you have to venture out.
