Last night was a great evening for the City of Alma! 💙

During our City Council meeting, we had the privilege of officially swearing in Chief Hawkins as Chief of Police. Please join me in congratulating Chief Hawkins as he continues to lead and serve our community!

Chief Hawkins also recognized several members of the Alma Police Department for their well-earned promotions:

👮 Johnathan Raden – Administration Lieutenant (not pictured)
👮 Shaun Lucas – Patrol Operations Lieutenant
👮 Issac Balderas – Patrol Sergeant

Congratulations to each of these officers! We appreciate your commitment to the City of Alma.

Council also approved moving forward with work to widen a section of Old Alma Road South. This is another important investment in our city's infrastructure and something we are excited to see get underway.

It is always encouraging to see progress happening in our small community!

Congratulations again to Chief Hawkins and our newly promoted officers, and thank you to everyone who continues to serve and invest in the City of Alma! 💙

David was a faithful servant, a man of integrity, and a true friend to so many. He had a servant’s heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

This news comes as a tremendous shock, and our hearts are heavy as we mourn this incredible loss.

On behalf of the City of Alma, please join me in praying for his wife, Lisa, and their entire family. May God surround them with His peace, strength, and comfort in the difficult days ahead.

David’s legacy of faith, kindness, and service will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all of our communities.

Please keep the Bittle family in your thoughts and prayers.

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude that the Waxahachie Police Department announces the passing of Public Service Officer David Bittle, a beloved member of our community and a man who dedicated his life to serving others.
