Congratulations to Harlan County 4-H member, Millie Blickenstaff. Ms Blickenstaff entered her video in the Nebraska State 4 H Premier Communication Event. She has won a purple and placed in the top 5 out of the state in the junior division. Congratulations Millie!!

Millie was one of six honored Harlan County 4-H youth that qualified to compete this year at the Nebraska State 4 H Premier Communication Event last week.

The Nebraska State 4 H Premier Communication Event took place on Tuesday, June 16, and Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in Lincoln. Six honored Harlan County 4-H youth qualified to compete this year. In the junior division Avery Stroebel, Mack Robison and Millie Blickenstaff. Brayden Koch qualified in the intermediate division and in the senior division, Brynlee Koch and Hudson Schmidt had qualified. Congratulations and job well done to these 4-H’ers at the 2026 State 4 H Premier Communication Event.

The ladies of the Harlan County Extension/4-H have been busy this month hosting a babysitting workshop, Clover Kid Workshop, South Central 4-H Camp and Inspire Academy!

Babysitting workshop attendees learned safety, meal prep, diaper changing, activities per age group and CPR.

South Central Camp youth learned or practiced their archery skills, created American themed crafts, listened to a civil war reenactment actor, shot water rockets and cooled off with water games!

Inspire Academy, Youth made 4 projects that are ready for the fair! They made custom door mats, American flag planters, name art, and etched glass!
