Notice to Residents: To improve safety for everyone, the Village has installed new stop signs at the intersection of Park Ave E and Washington St. These signs are now in effect. Please use caution as drivers adjust to the change and help keep our community safe.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 4th at Shadyside Park starting at 10am. The event is sponsored by the Almena Community Club. If the weather does not cooperate, the event will move from the park to the Village Hall at 131 Soo Ave E.

It is way too cold outside! Please stay safe and bundle up if you have to head outside over the next few days.

Public Works has also recommended running a small stream of water (pencil lead size) from a faucet furthest from the water main. This is to keep water moving through the system and prevent any freeze ups during this extreme cold weather.

A broken tree limb caused a village-wide power outage this morning. Crews are busy working on repairs with power expected to be restored in about an hour.

It's going to be cold outside so bundle up and visit Santa Claus in Almena on Saturday morning December 13th! He will be at the Village Hall on Soo Ave E from 10AM to 11AM. He will have bags of goodies for kids of all ages along with hot chocolate, coffee and cookies. Event is sponsored by the Almena Community Club.

Please support our Barron Area Montessori School class project: Thanksgiving Food and Winter Clothing Swap. Items will be collected starting tomorrow, Wednesday Nov 19th. Totes for dropping off donated items will be located in front of the school. See the flyer for additional details.

Join in honoring our Veterans. VFW Post 8512 will be hosting a spaghetti dinner today from 11:30am to 2pm at the Sacred Heart Church hall in Almena following a ceremony at the Barron Area Montessori School. Dinner is a free will donation.

Public Notice: Water Tower Cleaning
It is time for the village water tower to be drained, cleaned and inspected. This is planned to begin on Monday October 13th. There should be no interruption in water service but you may notice water pressure changes while this work is going on. Please contact Public Works or Village Hall with any questions.
