Last meeting of the Almond Sno-Eagles for the 2025-2026 riding season will be held on tonight, April 13th at the Legion Hall in Almond. Pizza at 6pm, meeting at 7pm. If you care to bring a dessert or salad it would be welcomed.

Adding Zone 2 opening tomorrow.

Zones 2 and 7 East of County Hwy I (East of the Country Canteen), of the Portage County Snowmobile Trail System will open Saturday 1-3-2026 at 8:00 am. Currently zones 4, 5, 6 and 8 are open. Trail 705 and Corridor 22 West of County I and all other zones are closed at this time. Use caution when riding as early season conditions exist. There could be areas with a thin base. and as always watch for any hazards. Thank you to all the landowners that allow the clubs to have trails on their property and to all the club volunteers that work to maintain and groom the trails. Everyone please ride safely and enjoy the trails.

Current Portage County trails that are open.

Zone 4 of the Portage County Snowmobile Trail System will open today 1-1-2026 at 12 noon. Currently zones 5, 6 and 8 are open. All other zones are closed at this time. Use caution when riding as early season conditions exist. There could be areas with a thin base. and as always watch for any hazards. Thank you to all the landowners that allow the clubs to have trails on their property and to all the club volunteers that work to maintain and groom the trails. Almond trails open at 6PM tomorrow.

The snowmobile trails in zones 8 and 5 will open Tomorrow, Wednesday 12/31/2025 at 8:00 am, the trails in zone 6 will open at 6 pm on Wednesday as well. All other trails in Portage County remain closed. Use caution when riding the trails are in early season condition with a thin base and possible hanging branches. Please respect the landowners property who are gracious enough to allow snowmobilers access for the sport.
