It is Go time! (We are a few days short of posting, we are sorry!) If you have been following our latest fundraiser, you may be watching the NYS Evening Lotto (10:30 pm) to see if you have purchased a winning ticket! We will be posting the evening lotto numbers periodically if you do not watch! The ticket you purchased is your evening 3 lotto numbers! We have highlighted the winning numbers so far in yellow for May 1st and May 2nd! If you have a winning ticket, our department will be contacting winners weekly to let them know, not to worry! We do still have tickets available as well! Note, purchase of your ticket is valid from the date you purchase to the end of May! We invite applications from individuals interested in volunteering their time and skills to serve the community. There are various roles available, including EMTs, Firefighters, and drivers, catering to diverse skill sets. A strong commitment to community service is essential. Training will be provided to successful applicants, and prior experience, although advantageous, is not a prerequisite. For an application, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Almond Fire Department's call volume has reached 28 incidents year-to-date. Recently, the department responded to three notable calls.
On 4/1/26, EMS provided medical care with MTS Mutual Aid's support, highlighting effective partnership. The department was also prepared to provide Mutual Aid to Canasaraga for a flooding incident on the same day, but was released as other partners covered the call.

Additionally, on 4/3/26, EMS personnel treated a patient with Arkport Mutual Aid's assistance and a strong crew presence. The department recognizes the contributions of its personnel, volunteers, and Mutual Aid partners in achieving positive outcomes. The Almond Fire Department is grateful for the dedication within the small community. Sincere appreciation is given to the surrounding Mutual Aid partners for their vital contributions.

This week's Sunday recap: Our team responded promptly to a pickup truck fire on I86 in Almond, successfully extinguishing it before significant damage occurred. Later that evening, we attended a carbon monoxide alarm and suspected gas leak, verifying the leak and contacting National Fuel for support. Both incidents concluded all individuals remained safe, and both incidents portrayed our crew's effective teamwork and dedication to community service.

This initiative will enable our department to acquire essential new Air Pacs to ensure the safety of our Members during scenes.
