We were happy to get over to the Alpena County Fair and drop by the 4-H Market Sale last week. President Bobby attended on behalf of the Rotary Club and purchased a pig from Chloe Rocz which will be donated to our local soup kitchen.

We’d like to give a huge shout to all of the kids, families, and everyone else that support our local 4-H program. The amount of time and effort that goes into this program is amazing!

The past few weeks have been all about some of the greatest things we have to offer in Northern Michigan; our beautiful lakes, fishing, and water sports.

A few weeks ago we learned about the Lady Michigan boat tours, followed by a presentation from our Harbormaster, and then all about the Alpena Youth Sailing Club and the great things they’re doing. It’s really quite remarkable how many amazing things Alpena has to offer. Our community is a true gem!

Last week we had an amazing presentation from Captain Evelyn and learned all about the Alpena Shipwreck Tours. She shared the tour opportunities and her fun experiences. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should!

July kicks off a new year in our Club and brings a change in leadership. Congratulations to Bobby Barrigar, the new President for the Alpena Rotary Club! We are excited for a great year ahead!

A big thank you to Angie Fox for her leadership over the past year as well. We are grateful for her commitment to supporting our community.

We had a great presentation from Angela Soltysiak, Alpena Brown Trout Festival President, yesterday. The BTF kicks off later this week so be sure to swing down to the harbor and check out the festivities! 🎣

Great presentations at Rotary this month! We had an opportunity to learn about the Alpena High School MATE ROV and heard from North Country Candy and Gifts. We love learning about all of the amazing things happening in our community!!

The Rotary Club of Alpena recently awarded a grant to Alpena Gymnastics to help support their program. We love these opportunities to give back to our amazing community!

When we welcome individuals to present at our weekly meetings, we have them sign a book that gets donated to a local library on their behalf. Yesterday, our Rotarians were able to head over to Ella White Elementary to make a donation to their library.
