Congratulations to Lieutenant Phil Curley, Captain Doug Krueger & Deputy Chief Tyler Suszek.
During today’s pinning ceremony family members had the privilege of placing each officer’s new badge, a tradition that serves as a reminder that every achievement in the fire service is supported by those who stand beside us at home.
These promotions represent years of dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving the citizens of Alpena. We are proud to recognize these three individuals as they begin the next chapter of their careers.

This AED is now available year around at Culligan Plaze thanks to AAACU for buying the cabinet. Thunder Bay Electric installed it. Anonymous donor has now bought 4 AEDs to put in our park’s including this one. This anonymous donor also has them at Starlite Beach and both pickleball courts in our community. A big thank you to all our community for making this program work!
If anyone would like to contribute please feel free to reach out to the City of Alpena Fire Department.

Mental Health Awareness Month may have ended, but the conversation shouldn’t.

Behind every uniform is a person. A friend. A coworker. A family member. Someone who may be fighting a battle you can’t see.

Yesterday, members of our department came together to create this video as a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay, and it’s okay to ask for help.

Check in on your people. Listen without judgment. Reach out when someone comes to mind. A simple conversation can make a bigger difference than you realize.

❤️ You matter.
