This week we said congratulations and thank you to Captain Marc Allen who retired from the department after 30 years of dedicated service to the City of Alpharetta GA, and all those who live work and play here. Over the course of his career Captain Allen saw a lot of change to the city and our department as it grew to fit the needs of the city.

As the department was still young and as the city grew, Captain Allen rose through the ranks, and helped build the department in areas like rescue systems and hazmat. As a leader he never stopped learning or passing along his knowledge to the next generation of firefighters.

Thank you for all you have done to help make our department what it is today.

Did you know scenes from Smokey and the Bandit were filmed on GA 400 back in 1976 ahead of its 1977 release? With the film’s 50th anniversary coming up, it felt like the perfect time for a nod to this classic.

Yesterday, Roswell and Alpharetta Fire units responded to a tractor trailer fire on northbound GA 400 just past Mansell Road. After knocking down the bulk of the fire, crews faced a challenge—limited water supply due to the lack of hydrants along GA 400.

A command decision was made to relocate the trailer. With assistance from Alpharetta PD and an es**rt by Battalion 8, the truck made its way north on GA 400 and then “eastbound and down” on Haynes Bridge Road to North Point Mall, where Quint 83 was staged and ready.

The trailer was safely moved into the parking lot, and crews fully extinguished the remaining fire.
Special thanks to Roswell Fire, Alpharetta PD, and North Point for their teamwork and support!

Crews were later seen enjoying "A Diablo Sandwich and a Dr. Pepper"

Our very own Community Risk Reduction Officer (CRRO) Turnbull and MPO Nicholson from alpharettapolicedept attended the Lake Windward Community Event on Sunday. It was a great way to talk to the community, let everyone see a little more about what we do to serve Alpharetta and all those who live, work and play in our awesome city.

Sometimes situations call for working together with our neighboring departments, and to be as effective as possible we recognize the need to work together as a team. Throughout the week our crews and the crews from Johns Creek Fire Department met at Roswell-Alpharetta Public Safety Training Center to review the different equipment we carry and run through some scenarios where we may need to work together.
