Last night’s thunderstorms swept across much of Milton, bringing heavy rain, frequent lightning, and strong winds that left numerous trees down throughout the city.
As the storm moved through, Milton Fire-Rescue crews stayed busy overnight responding to storm-related calls, including clearing trees from roadways, investigating lightning strikes, and ensuring damaged properties were safe.
One of the more significant incidents involved a home struck by lightning off New Providence Road, where firefighters found smoke and minor damage in the attic but no active fire. They ventilated the home and checked for hidden fire extensions, helping to protect it from further damage.
