SRSU Noyce Scholarship Program The Robert Noyce Scholarship Program serves preservice STEM teachers attending Sul Ross State University.

We include qualified students from all branches of SRSU including Uvalde, Eagle Pass, and Del Rio, to apply for our program's scholarship.

We are excited to invite Big Bend area families to our middle school Spark Innovation Camp hosted at Sul Ross State University on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the University Center – Espino Conference Center in Alpine.
Designed for students entering grades 5–8, this hands-on camp will provide engaging experiences in STEM, innovation, technology, and creative problem-solving through interactive activities led by university faculty, educators, and STEM leaders.
This year’s camp is sponsored by the National Science Foundation-supported Noyce Program at Sul Ross State University in partnership with the Museum of the Big Bend's traveling Smithsonian Spark exhibit.

Join educators, researchers, school leaders, students, and community partners on 📅 Monday, July 13, 2026, from ⏰ 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the 📍 Espino Conference Center in Alpine, Texas.
This year’s conference will explore innovative STEM literacy strategies that enhance teaching and learning—while redefining what it means to be STEM literate in the age of artificial intelligence.

Congratulations to our Noyce Scholars, Adrain Estrada, a math major seeking a secondary teaching certification, and Cameron Ochoa, a biology major seeking a secondary teaching certification. Both presented a poster presentation at the SRSU Research Symposium and both are also a McNair scholar. Adrian is working to investigate AI Literacy in K-12 schools with the Presidential AI Challenge. Cameran will be investigating the impact of a summer STEM camp on interest regarding careers in science. We are very proud of our scholars!

We are proud to celebrate Noyce Scholar Adrian Estrada, who is also a McNair Scholar, for presenting at The University of Texas at San Antonio’s 2026 Research Colloquium. His presentation, “Artificial Intelligence versus The Authentic Mind: Challenges, Obstacles, and Opportunities for Academic Learning in the Disciplines,” highlighted important findings from SRSU’s Noyce K–12 Presidential Challenge AI Literacy Research Project.
