Town of Alpine, Colorado The Town of Alpine is located 16 miles West Southwest of Buena Vista, Colorado, and about four miles east of St. Elmo, Colorado in Chalk Creek Canyon on CR 162.

The 1880s unincorporated community has about 100 homes, with a few original cabins remaining.
