Alpine Fire District would like to welcome 3 new recruits as volunteers! Jack, Brock and Bojan will be great assets to the community bringing valuable, needed skills and a lot of enthusiasm to learn new skills.
We are still looking for a few more men or women to volunteer and be part of making a safer community. No experience needed. You can still prioritize your family or job and make a difference! Come by and say hi, ask some questions and see if this is the right fit for you. We are here Mon-Fri 7:30-3:30. Appreciate y'all!

🚒 IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALPINE FIRE DISTRICT RESIDENTS

New Fire Station May Help Lower Your Homeowners Insurance Rates!

Alpine Fire District is pleased to announce that our **new Fire Station #2**, located at **28 Palomino Dr., Etna, WY 83118**, is now operational and serving our community.

If your home is located within 5 miles of our new fire station, you may qualify for reduced homeowners insurance premiums!**

The proximity of a fire station, along with available firefighting equipment and water supply, can play an important role in determining homeowners insurance rates.

Our new Station #2 is equipped with **4,000 gallons of water available for firefighting operations**, providing an additional resource for fire suppression and enhancing our ability to respond to emergencies in the southern portion of our district.

With this additional station, some residents may now qualify for lower insurance premiums due to improved access to fire protection services.

What Should You Do?

We encourage homeowners living within 5 miles of Station #2 to contact their homeowners insurance agent or provider and request a review of their current policy.

When contacting your insurance provider, be sure to mention:

WYOMING PROPOSITION 1: WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR FIRE PROTECTION?

On November 3, 2026, Wyoming voters will consider Proposition 1, a proposed property tax exemption for qualifying homeowners.

If approved, the measure would provide an additional exemption equal to 50% of the assessed value of an eligible primary residence's dwelling.

Why is this important to Alpine Fire District?

Property tax revenue is an important funding source for fire protection districts throughout Wyoming. Changes to property tax laws can affect the funding available for emergency services.

These funds help fire districts provide essential services, including:

🚒 Fire apparatus and equipment

🧑‍🚒 Firefighter training and protective gear

🏠 Fire station operations and maintenance

🛟 Emergency response and rescue capabilities

Last night 12 of our volunteers trained on ground ladders. We work as a team to accomplish our goal of making this community safer. Thank you to all our dedicated crew for coming out on a cold, rainy night to improve your skills. We would also like to welcome our new recruits Jack and Brock for being here.

On 10/12/26 at 10:33pm Alpine Fire District responded to single vehicle accident at mile marker 402 on Hwy 26 just over the state line in Idaho by Palisades reservoir. Upon arrival Alpine Fire found one occupant outside the vehicle with no injuries. Alpine Fire assisted Star Valley EMS with checking on the occupant and cleaning up the roadway. Alpine Fire also assisted Idaho State police in securing the scene and waiting for the tow truck.
Alpine Fire has a mutual agreement with Bonneville County and responds to any incident this side of Indian Creek. We would like to thank all of our volunteers who responded late at night to assist someone in need. We would also like to thank Star Valley EMS and Idaho State police for their assistance on scene.
As winter approaches and nighttime driving becomes more regular, please stay alert and if you feel tired, take a break. Now is also a great time to check on winter tires and reminding ourselves to drive slower. Be safe folks!

Every day the men and women of the Alpine Fire District are ready to help our community. Each one of our volunteers walked in our door with the desire to give back, knowing if they were not here, no one would be.
Are you someone that would like to give back to your friends and neighbors when they need you most? No prior experience is required. Working in Jackson, that's okay! Respond when you can. We will work with your availability. Drop by and come say hi!
