The Village of Alsip was proud to participate in its second annual Chicago River Day this past Saturday, May 9th, at the Alsip Boat Launch.

Every year on Chicago River Day, thousands of volunteers come together to build community around our local waterways while learning about the harmful effects litter has on neighborhoods, wildlife, and water quality. As the flagship event of Friends of the Chicago River’s Litter Free Chicago-Calumet River initiative, this important day helps reduce the amount of trash impacting our watershed and encourages environmental stewardship throughout the region.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to help spread mulch at the Mary Schmidt Community Sanctuary. Your hard work and dedication made a meaningful impact, and we truly appreciate everyone who took the time to give back to our community and environment.

It was a great day spent making a difference, connecting with fellow inspired volunteers, and continuing our commitment to keeping our waterways and community beautiful for future generations.

The Village of Alsip held its Annual Community Clean-Up Day this past Saturday, and we would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who came out Saturday morning to help beautify our community. Your time, hard work, and dedication truly make a difference and help keep our village looking its best.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Stan's Donuts for graciously donating donuts for our volunteers, and to The Coca-Cola Company for providing cases of water to keep everyone hydrated throughout the morning.

Community partnerships and volunteer support like this are what make Village of Alsip such a great place to live and work. Thank you again to all who participated!
