We have so many wonderful new kids books available at the library!

I am very excited about this new set, The Prince Martin Series. They are perfect, especially for boys ages six through 10 as a family read aloud, or to read on their own. Written by Brandon Hale, a captain in the US Army, who wrote them for his little boy when he was deployed, as a way to keep connected to his young son. They are full of classic adventure, and hold up courage, sacrifice, grit, and friendship. Timeless books.

Stop in today and check out something wonderful!

If you have yet to get your library card, you don’t know what you’re missing! Not only does your card give you access to the materials in our library, but with the touch of a button, you can request items from anywhere in our library system, to be delivered to our building! Books, movies, games, kits, ebooks and e-audiobooks! The possibilities are endless!

If you reside in the city limits, your card is paid for by a small tax, if you are outside the city limits, the cost is $60/year for your household. We have kept the cost of a non-resident card the same for over 17 years. For the price of 2 hardcover books, you have unlimited library services for a household for a whole year! It’s a wonderful bargain!!

Public gathering spots are fading from our landscape, yet your public library is more vibrant and vital than ever!

Pop in and sign up for your card today! It’s the best back-to-school purchase that you could make!

We had a record crowd this morning at the library where we celebrated America’s birthday during our Patriotic StoryTime!!

We were fortunate enough to have a special guest, Captain Todd Sovey, army veteran, ( and also Miss Sharon’s husband), talk to us about his army duties and teach us how to properly care for and fold a flag!

We read two stories and learned about America’s white table, which is a special way of remembering people in the Armed Forces, who are or were missing in action and POWs.

We had a white table set up, and it was very meaningful. We then did a spectacular Uncle Sam craft and had red white and blue bomb pops to top it all off. Happy birthday America, from all of the storytime children!
