During the month of June here at the Altamont Public Library, we are celebrating our wonderful country, the freedoms we enjoy, including the freedom to read what we choose, and this 250th birthday! If you don’t yet have a library card, this month would be a great time to come in and get one and start your reading journey!

Our summer reading program starts tomorrow, June 1 and runs through June 30.

You may pick up the children’s bingo cards anytime, and they can begin reading and earning prizes! We’ve got lots of new books, and old ones for them to enjoy!

All you need is a current library card. If your family doesn’t yet have a card, stop in and apply for one. You’re not going to want to miss out on the fun, including so many new items that we’ve purchased for all ages!!

Tomorrow ( Wednesday, May 20th) from 2-5 PM, the library will host an unclaimed property event. Stop in tomorrow afternoon to receive assistance in discovering if you are one of the many citizens of Illinois who have unclaimed assets coming to them.
